Headlight Restoration

Headlight Restoration

Plastic headlight lenses can become faded over time, accelerated by the sun's UV rays, road salt and harsh car wash chemicals. The layer of oxidation can be removed with skilled wet-sanding and machine polishing techniques to reveal a clear and fresh finish underneath. As well as unsightly, faded headlights can dramatically reduce the amount of light being passed through, reducing nighttime vision and can also be a potential MOT fail.

Andrew offers two levels of service for headlight restoration:
1. Sand, polish and ceramic coat. £60 per pair.
Ideal for headlights with mild to moderate fading in general, surrounding areas are masked off for the headlights to be progressively wet-sanded and machine polished prior to an application of ceramic coating. Results generally last two to three years.
2. Sand and 2k lacquer. £120 per pair.
Required for headlights with heavy fading, and for customers who are perhaps a little pickier and would like a more durable finish even if the fading isn't too bad. This involves sanding the oxidation away prior to application of 2k lacquer via spray gun for the ultimate finish. The lacquer will protect the plastic for much longer.
